So you want to try your hand at Amazing DIY nail designs, but where to start? The first thing to do is to get some basic nail art tools. This is a list of my five key tools for DIY nail art.
1) nail polish
Essentials are: the masses (to prevent discoloration of the nail and let the nail polish glides smoothly), nail polish and top coat (make sure your manicure will last more than a day). I want to use a fast drying top coat cos that will save you oodles of time and is so convenient to use, but it is also a good idea to have a normal top coat or clear polish in hand with some more complex Amazing DIY nail designs.
After trying lots of different brands, I have found that it is so important to invest in good quality nail polish. These are more expensive but they are worth it because they last longer, dry faster and not bulky. I have had such bad experiences with cheap nail polish, and now I just stick to brands that I have used before (and the like) and well-known brands. Orly, OPI, China Glaze, Sally Hansen and Essie are some of the good. It is also a good idea to test the polish from the brand you have not tried it before you buy it.
2) Nail dotters
Nail dotters contribute to creating a point and a circle pattern. I use them all the time to create a simple polka dot design. They come in different sizes. Starting out, it would be good to get your hands on one, which is a medium-sized round tip on one end and a small one on the other, so you can choose the size of the points you want to create.
To find a plastic sheet and drop a few dabs of Amazing DIY nail designs on top. I want to use the name of the cards that are hard and feel a little plastic here cos they are small and disposable. Dip the tip of the round balls into Polish. Try to make some points sheet / name card until you get the right size and consistency you want. Do the same on the surface of the nail. Be careful not to use too much pressure, which can cause stains look deformed. Be sure to clean them after use and dry thoroughly. These tools are made of metal and prone to rust.
