With so many hair colors out there, it is best for you? Is Jen Aniston’s highlights? Is it a beautiful red Rene Russo used Thomas Crown Affair? What about the shiny, almost black shade Courtney Cox long locks?
When deciding on the right Black hair with gray highlights for yourself, there are several options to consider. As a professional stylist ago (yikes!) 1984, I can help even without seeing the hair. While choosing the right color can be practical, emotional and financial-based, you should really consider all of these when you make the right choice. Let’s get started!
I would like to start by saying that I am a current job stylist behind the chair for five days a week. Most of my clients pay me to color my hair when I have that color yourself at home. Discuss those two options here, and help you ask the right questions to get the best option for Black hair with gray highlights.
I think it is best to have a professional hair coloring. You’re not surprised are you? Here’s why: I have seen many “home” hair go wrong, and I can assure you that it is more cost effective to get someone like me to do it right the first time. Corrective color can be very expensive, not to mention the damage that can be done to be stained more than once in a short period of time. If you absolutely have to color at home, I recommend the deposit only color, (which does not contain ammonia or lighten the hair), and choose a color that is at least one shade lighter than you think for the first time. Do not rely on the TV screen! It’s not what it looks like most of the time. It is much easier to darken the color, if it is too light rather than vice versa.
Ok, so you’ve decided to be a stylist to coloring Black hair with gray highlights. If you go to a home hair color, please note that it may take a few visits to the salon to make the transition. Depending on what you are painting, you may have a stylist to make some changes in the color exactly on the first visit. If they are like me, they protect the integrity of the hair, even if it means more than one visit to complete it.
